Easter Vigil

Saturday, April 19, 2024 | 8:04 pm

The Easter Vigil is the pinnacle of all services of the church year. We begin at sunset with the lighting and blessing of the new fire. We will light a new Paschal Candle and share that light with one another remembering that Jesus Christ is the “light of the world.” Then we hear the ancient stories of our redemption, remember our baptisms and get sprinkled with holy water, and, at the proclamation of Easter, we will shout with joy our Alleluias that have been silenced during Lent. Finally, we will celebrate with elation the first Eucharist of Easter.
